Meet Rani
” I am a 24 year old girl with a burning passion for Jesus Christ and desserts”.
Rani Sweet Creation was established by Ranique Calame as a Jamaican Newcomer and student in Toronto.
“Baking has been much more for me than selling outstanding desserts to customers. I attained a great sense of belonging and fulfilment through Rani Sweet Creation. I get to connect with my Jamaican diaspora/ community and also get to share my passionately baked goods with people of all cultures who enjoy dessert.
It is joyful and empowering for me when I reflect on connections made, moments celebrated and all the positivity surrounding Rani Sweet Creation.

Rani Sweet Creation’s Origin Story

My interest in baking started from making cupcakes with those well known cake mix, for family movie nights and making scones from scratch, oh my goodness, I forget how crazy I went when I discovered scones!
My mom envisioned more potential than I imagined and encouraged me to bake to sell. After baking and decorating cupcakes for church and events she managed, I realized how amazing it would be to have a “cupcake business!”, and that is what Rani Sweet Creation started as in Fall 2019, a cupcake business.
Over the years Rani Sweet Creation has been blessed to be so much more.
It truly warms my heart to bake desserts that remind people of “back home”. Cakes that makes them eat a “likkle piece” then another “likkle piece” and another “likkle piece”. Only to realize they ate 3 serving of dessert in one sitting (guilt free at that).
No occassion is the same without Rani’s dessert.
Whether it is finishing a whole cake within minutes or having all your guest enjoy “the cake from the party”, treasured memories are created around the delicious treats I bake.
This is my goal, for every order, I aim for you to enjoy delicious and timely crafted desserts that contribute to memorable moments for you and your loved ones.
